Arkansas finished their promising season with a 7-6 record after achieving a Texas Bowl victory over Texas by a score of 31-7. Texas fell to 6-7 with their loss.
The Razorbacks played to their strength as running backs Alex Collins and Jonathan Williams both had solid performances.
Williams led Arkansas in rushing with 105 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries, and Collins added another 76 yards on 17 carries.
Quarterback Brandon Allen also stepped up with 160 passing yards and two touchdown passes on 12-of-23 passing, and the Razorbacks dominated the Longhorns in time of possession as they held the ball for a whopping 41 minutes.
Longhorns quarterback Tyrone Swoopes had a night to forget as he was held to 57 yards and an interception on 13-of-25 passing, but he was able to score a rushing touchdown on the Longhorns’ only score of the game.
The Longhorns’ rushing attack was a polar opposite to the Razorbacks’ as they were only able to come up with a total of two rushing yards.
This game puts the SEC’s bowl record at 3-0 while the Big 12 fell to 0-3 in bowl games.
