The 62-year-old was in charge of Bayern between 2009 and 2011 and Kroos played under the Dutchman during that time.
In fact many think that it is because of this former working relationship that the midfielder has decided to give up Champions League football to join the Red Devils.
4. He held the record as Bayern’s youngest ever player
Despite still only being 24 it is over seven years since Kroos made his debut for Bayern, coming off the bench in a 5-0 win over Energie Cottbus back in September 2007.
The teenager impressed many by setting up two goals for Mirolslav Klose during that match and held the record as the club’s youngest ever player – until David Alaba took it from him in 2010.
