After Suarez was slapped with a 10-match suspension for biting Ivanovic, fanatix looks back at the other naughty boys.
Luis Suarez was handed a 10-match ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic last weekend, but where does that place the Uruguayan in the all-time list of Premier League suspensions.
10. Joey Barton – six matches
Whilst at Manchester City Barton decided to effectively end his time at the club when he attacked teammate Ousmane Dabo on the training pitch
Pictures of the Frenchman shortly after the assault showed a very bloodied and battered face and for his actions Barton was slapped with a four-month suspended prison sentence.
9. David Batty – six matches
The former England midfielder must have been pretty gutted when Paolo Di Canio became famous for pushing the ref over, as Batty had pulled a similar trick four months before the Italian.
Whilst playing for Newcastle the terrier-like player shoved David Elleray after being shown a red card.
8. Luis Suarez – eight matches
Anyone else starting to think Suarez might enjoy a bit of controversy? Last season the striker was banned after being found guilty of racially abusing Manchester United’s Patrice Evra.
It’s amazing the Uruguayan finds the time to score 23 Premier League goals.
