It’s a big week for the biggest tournament in world football.
Despite a number of teams having the luxury of playing international friendlies this week to prepare for the World Cup next summer, for 22 nations that place isn’t yet confirmed.
There are 17 play-off matches in the next nine days, with 11 more countries progressing to the tournament in Brazil and 11 falling at the final hurdle.
There are a host of Premier League stars in action but here are the 10 that could have the biggest influence.
Yaya Toure
Club: Manchester City.
Nation: Ivory Coast.
The towering midfielder has been in superb form for City again this term, helping to guide them to some great performances in both the Premier League and Champions League.
Toure has enjoyed a more free role and has netted seven times, but will perhaps have to be more defensively minded against Senegal as the Ivorians aim to defend a 3-1 aggregate lead from the first leg.
