6. Jon Flanagan, Liverpool

Another right-sided defender now – although Flanagan played much of the last year at left-back – and someone who defied his critics in a brilliant term for the Reds.

Flanagan was arguably a better performer than the more experienced Glen Johnson in 2013/14 and could well replace the more senior figure if their form continues to go the way it is.
