Injuries and loss of form were all compounded by his family being unsettled in Manchester. His weak performances toward the end of the campaign will likely force Louis Van Gaal to remodel United’s system next term.
4. Luke Shaw – Southampton to Manchester United, £27m
Another player whose campaign has been blighted by injuries, Shaw has managed to get on the pitch just 16 times since his arrival at Old Trafford. When he has been included he comes across as being too afraid to make mistakes, rendering him boring and a far cry from being the exciting talent he had looked at Southampton.
