5. Aaron Cresswell – West Ham
When the Hammers took a chance on Cresswell over the summer, they never imagined that they’d be getting such a talented player. He’s taken to Premier League football like a duck to water, and picked up the club’s Player of the Year aware earlier this month. Both Man City and Chelsea are rumoured to be watching.
4. Jordan Henderson – Liverpool
Considering he is the heir to Stevie G’s mantle he’s stepped up as and when he’s needed. Though he’s not at the same level as the Anfield icon, he’s displayed enough character and ability to suggest that the club will be left in safe hands.
3. Tom Cleverley – Aston Villa
El Clevs arrived at Aston Villa as a broken shell of a player, and looked to continue that form under Paul Lambert. However, since Tim Sherwood’s arrival he has looked a different player. Bagging three goals in successive games, his energy, running and passing alongside Fabian Delph has made Villa a difficult team to break down. Another name on the verge of an England return.
2. Marouane Fellaini – Manchester United
The Belgian was undoubtedly one of the flops of last season, but has been reborn under Van Gaal. With seven goals to his name this time around, he has been solid and dependable, making United a force again in the centre of the park.
1. Harry Kane – Tottenham Hotspur
Kane was barely a household name at the start of the season, but has grown in stature and influence at White Heart Lane ever since. He has proved that he can be prolific with 30 goals in all competitions. Having already been handed the captaincy and called up into the England squad, he’s quite rightly being billed as English football’s next great hope.
