Sardar Azmoun – The Iranian Messi
Still only 20, he has the potential to make it to the top of the game, but he’ll need someone to rescue him from Russian side Rostov for that to happen, though.
Lorenzo Insigne – The Italian Messi
Insigne is actually doing very well for himself. Currently on the books at Napoli, he has been steadily adding to his caps with the Italian national team. Injury has hampered his progress this term, but the 23-year-old has the ingredients to kick on and reach the top of the game.
Li Ming – The Chinese Messi
Not to be confused with the female, bikini clad singer, the 15-year-old turns out for Qingdao’s Chengyang Experimental No. 2 Primary School. It won’t be long before Chine produces a version on Lionel Messi, but it remains to be seen if it’ll be him.
Christian Atsu – The African Messi
Apparently good enough to be labelled as an entire continent’s Lionel Messi, rather than just that of his native Ghana. He joined Chelsea in 2013, but is currently spending the season on loan with Everton.
Zak Gilsenan – The Australian/Irish Messi
When lil’ Zak signed for Barcelona in 2009, it set of a scramble between both Ireland and Australia claimed him as their own. However, he could also turn out for England, so should he continue to progress the way many hope the Three Lions could face yet another three-way tug of war similar to that of Adnan Januzaj.
