Norwich City – Leroy Fer, Netherlands
The Canaries are the third and final team on this list that suffered the drop this year, but their impressive box-to-box midfielder Fer may not be staying at Carrow Road next term because of his fine displays.
Southampton – Adam Lallana, England
It’s been a rapid rise for the Saints in the last four years, with successive promotions followed by two top 10 finishes in the top flight and now their skipper Lallana is a regular in the national team.
Stoke City – Asmir Begovic, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Stoke don’t have a huge number of candidates on show, but their increasingly impressive goalkeeper Begovic will be between the sticks for Bosnia at their first ever World Cup.
Sunderland – Jozy Altidore, USA
Just the one player from the Stadium of Light and so whilst the £8.5m forward has been far from brilliant since a transfer last summer, he’s the best the Black Cats have on offer.
