The striker is mocked mercilessly after coming on against Manchester City.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League trip to Manchester City was hardly a happy one and Emmanuel Adebayor did not have the greatest of first appearances of the season.
With the north London club 3-0 down at half-time Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas decided to bring on the former City star and Twitter reacted accordingly to the controversial striker.
There’s hope for anyone to make it professional when you see Adebayor playing

Spent 100 mil and Adebayor still gets on the pitch! Doesnt say much for the players he’s brought in

i don’t even think adebayor would make the starting XI at theddingworth fc, and that team doesn’t even exist
— Thomas Simpson (@TomSimpson__) November 24, 2013
Adebayor getting schooled by lescott pretty much sums up this performance!

Bringing Adebayor on when you’re losing is like throwing in a toaster when you’re drowning

The forward cuts an unpopular figure at Spurs having been cast into the youth team by Villas-Boas and the side desperately trying to sell the Togo international in the summer.
In fact it’s quite the fall from grace for Adebayor, who was once rated as one of the best attackers in the division when at Arsenal.
Yet since making a £25m move to the Citizens in 2009 things have gone from bad to worse and now Tottenham are stuck with an expensive player that they really don’t want.
