In what was a relatively quiet summer of transfers for the Potteries the acquisition of Netherlands international Pieters when somewhat under the radar.
Yet the left-back has bags of experience with PSV Eindhoven and during 17 international caps – despite still only being 25-years-old – and has been a constant presence in the Stoke team.
