Mike Tyson v Evander Holyfield
As Tyson looked to defend the heavyweight title a media furor surrounded the fight between the two, with the former landing a solid punch in the first round.
Holyfield then took advantage and having studied Tyson intensely used tactics and strength to keep the champion at bay – although two “accidental” headbutts also helped.
Yet a year later a rematch between the pair would be even more controversial, as in the third round Tyson bit a chunk out of Holyfield’s ear – an action that cost the fighter his licence and a $3m fine.
