The young English defender has been steadily making his way into the Lisbon giants first team having moved there with his mother ten years ago. There are already high hopes for him at international level after he decided to pledge his allegiance to his home country rather than his adopted nation. England need a cultured centre-back desperately, and if Dier continues his rapid rate of progression the Three Lions may have one sooner than they thought.
