Striker Demba Ba spent most of last season as third choice at Stamford Bridge, behind Samuel Eto’o and Fernando Torres, but Mourinho still managed to make a small profit on the fee they originally paid to Newcastle United when the Senegalese forward was sold to Besiktas for a fee of £8m this summer.
