Finally this midfielder is a favourite of van Gaal’s with the manager having coached Strootman in the Dutch national team for the past two years.
The 24-year-old was impressing at Roma this term after a switch from PSV Eindhoven, but a cruciate ligament injury means the midfield ace won’t be fit again until December.
