3. Celtic – 2003/04, 25 wins
The European legends were all conquering in the top tier of Scotland when Swedish legend Henrik Larsson led the line at Celtic Park.
It was the striker’s final season at the club and they marched to league and cup double and also lost out in the UEFA Cup final to FC Porto.
2. NK Dinamo Zagreb – 2006/07, 28 games
Zagreb had a team full of stars that are well known to the Premier League now as Eduardo, Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric helped the team get to within one win of the European record.
In the end a 4-3 defeat ended what was an outstanding run and Zagreb’s biggest talents departed, with Modric having had the most success now playing at Real Madrid.
1. SL Benfica – 1971-73, 29 games
In what is increasingly looking like an unattainable record, Portuguese legend Eusebio helped lead Benfica to an impressive run in the early 1970s.
This effort stretched over two seasons with the club lifting the domestic title in Portugal in 1972/73 without losing a single match.
