The Juventus ace could be leaving Italy in January.
In a surprising twist of events. it seems Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo has become a realistic target for Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, according to the Daily Mail.
The 34-year-old has been in dazzling form for La Bianconeri since arriving from AC Milan two years ago, helping the club to successive Serie A titles.
However, with Pirlo’s contract ending at the end of the current season, Juve are debating whether to offer the Italy international a new deal.
Manager Antonio Conte seems to be losing faith in the aging midfielder, who has been substituted in the side’s last two matches – once more than the entire 2012/13 season.
The coach is also unhappy with Pirlo’s reaction when the Italian was hauled off in the 65th minute at the weekend, when the midfield ace walked straight past the dug-out and down the tunnel.
“We have established a rule; when a player leaves the pitch, unless it is for medical treatment, they should watch for the end of the game with their team mates,” Conte was quoted by the Mail.
“For those who don’t respect the rule, there will be a heavy fine and a month out of the team. Is that easy? It’s very easy.”
United are said to harbour interest in Pirlo, as the Premier League champions struggle for creativity in the centre of the park.
The arrival of Marouane Fellaini is unlikely to fill the void left by Paul Scholes, whereas the Juve star is a much more adequate candidate.
The Blues meanwhile have been interested in the midfielder since the Italian was playing for Milan and would also be interested in adding to their already bulging midfield.
With four Serie A titles, two Champions League and a World Cup triumph to Pirlo’s name, the Premier League would be enriched with the arrival of such an illustrious player.
