Who has stopped their opponent the most?
The 2013/14 Premier League season has seen some fine defensive displays so far and goals have been kept to a minimum.
Therefore fanatix looks at the six players to have made the most tackles in the English top tier this campaign.
4.= Claudio Yacob
Club: West Bromwich Albion.
Tackles: 25.
The Argentine has developed into a key player for West Brom and alongside Youssuf Mulumbu, has formed a fine defensive midfield partnership.
Yacob actually scored the South American’s first goal for the Baggies against Arsenal at the weekend, but generally it is defensively that the 26-year-old excels.
4.= Karim El Ahmadi
Club: Aston Villa.
Tackles: 25.
After a disappointing campaign during Paul Lambert’s first year in charge, the Scot finally seems to be instilling some belief at Villa this time around.
An overhaul of the squad has seen El Ahmadi and Fabian Delph forming a resolute central midfield pairing.
4.= Joel Ward
Club: Crystal Palace.
Tackles: 25.
With Palace having very little of the ball so far in the league it is little wonder their players have to make a lot of tackles, although full-back Ward has been in particularly fine form.
