Form – Chelsea have an extremely congested final month-and-a-half and their pursuit of the Europa League may hinder their top four chances.
The Blues’ form in the league has been inconsistent, with defeats to Southampton and QPR in 2013, as well as draws with Reading and again the Saints.
Rafa Benitez is clearly not a popular choice as manager with the fans but there is no disputing the Spaniard’s CV, two La Liga titles, a Champions League and a UEFA Cup speak for themselves and this experience may well push Chelsea across the line.
Players – The West London club bought wisely in the summer, with big money signings Eden Hazard and Oscar fitting straight into the Premier League, whilst Juan Mata has once again been brilliant.
Up front it has not been quite such a success with Fernando Torres again playing indifferently (although perhaps not as bad as it may be perceived) and Demba Ba not yet showing the form that made his name at Newcastle.
Fanatix prediction – 5th.
