7. Cherno Samba
An explosively talented striker emerging from south London, Samba had scouts all over the country watching him during appearances in the England youth set up.
Suddenly, though, the interest from the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United disappeared, so he moved to Spain with Cadiz, but life there didn’t work out and he was soon back in England struggling to make an impact in the lower leagues. He still managed to collect four caps for the Gambian national side, but at 29, he’s presently unattached after being ditched by Norwegian club FK Tønsberg.
