6. Nii Lamptey
A Ghanaian wonder kid in the early 90s. He signed forms with PSV and Anderlecht to rave reviews before being picked up by Aston Villa. He showed promise in a handful of appearances in the Midlands, but the club didn’t see enough to keep him on board.
A move to Coventry failed to pan out, and though he continued to be a fully fledged Ghanaian international with 38 caps, the rest of his career was spent scrapping around the lower leagues of the likes of Italy, Portugal, China and South Africa.
