The young Scoucer made a name for himself with Everton, proving himself to be a talented goalscorer. Arsenal spotted this and shelled out £9m for his signature in 2001. However, after just 22 appearances and four goals in three years, Wenger realised he’d made a mistake and shipped him back to Everton on loan.
And despite spells with Rangers and Blackburn, he’d lost his goalscoring touch and was eventually forced to flee to Australia and Malta in search of regular football.
