2. Alan Shearer
Clubs: Blackburn, Newcastle United.
The top-scorer in Premier League history by some way with an incredible 260 goals in 441 matches, Shearer was prolific on both the domestic and international stage with 30 goals in 63 caps for England.
Unfortunately for the striker despite winning a league title with Blackburn in 1995, following a then British transfer record fee of £15m to Newcastle the Englishman would never win another trophy.
Yet despite not being anywhere near as highly decorated as others in this list, no forward was more feared in England during Shearer’s 18-year career.
Retired from the game in 2009 to become a TV pundit, the England international has perhaps had the most unfortunate career in terms of winners medals, but the best in terms of goals.
