The Italian giants have shared the talents of some of the most gifted footballers.
In most leagues in world football, it is almost unheard of that rival clubs located in the same city are willing to do business with one another on a regular basis.
Aside from a few anomalies to the rule around Europe, it has generally been ignored by both AC Milan and Internazionale, who have often divulged in negotiations over numerous players.
There are more high profile cases which will be discussed in this article, but there have also been some lesser known players to have crossed the divide in the city, often with Milan benefiting the most.
Before we count-down the top 5 players to have played for both of these illustrious football clubs, here are a few players worthy of an honourable mention:
Mario Balotelli
Perhaps the latest “big-name” star to have plied his trade for both Milanese clubs, “Super Mario” appears to have matured and developed as a player since joining the club he supported as a child.
While he enjoyed great success during his time at Inter in the collective sense, he was offloaded to Manchester City due to personal issues before returning home to lead the Rossoneri for the foreseeable future.
Clarence Seedorf
Despite arriving at Inter as a two-time Champions League winner, Clarence Seedorf was unable to repeat his success during his time at the club during the 1999-2000 season.
He went on join Milan where he won almost every trophy available in club football across the span of a glorious decade for the Rossoneri, also being crowned a European champion twice.
Christian Vieri
Vieri joined Inter for a world record £31m transfer fee back in 1999, scoring 123 goals in 190 appearances for the club while bagging numerous individual awards.
However, his move to Milan was disastrous in comparison, lasting just a few months before he continued his career at the likes of Monaco, Fiorentina and Atalanta.
