The story of this forward is something of a rise from obscurity to international stardom when even the player himself had thought those days had passed.
Upon the Saints’ promotion back to the top flight in 2012 Lambert was among those that had risen through the ranks with them and took everything in his stride.
Aged 31 the striker earned his first cap for England and scored on his debut against Scotland and is expected to travel to the World Cup.
