Having won trophies across Europe Hodgson was appointed as Reds boss in 2010 after impressing in the top flight with Fulham on a minimal budget.
However, after seven games the Merseysiders were third from bottom, having lost to Blackpool at home and League Two Northampton Town in the League Cup and the 66-year-old left in January 2011.
