After two down seasons, Theo Walcott is once again healthy and ready to play at a high level.
Arsenal haven’t been doing much in the way of “scoring” recently, but a club legend thinks the Gunners have an elite scoring duo that can put up as much as 40 goals between the two of them this year.
In an interview with Sky Sports, former Arsenal forward Charlie Nicholas stated that Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott could each have 15 to 20 goals this season and can help turn around the team’s scoring woes.
“Giroud was never going to be the player who is going to win you the title but he’s one of the players who could help you win it,” Nicholas said. “This season I still expect Giroud to score 15 to 20 league goals. If Walcott stays fit I’d expect him to score 15-20 league goals, too.
“Combine both of them with Sanchez and others then Arsenal should be ok.”
Once the highest paid footballer in Britain, the now53-year-old Nicholas scored 54 goals in five seasons with Arsenal, leading the club to a Football League Cup in 1987.
