Arsenal are finally close to ending the Theo Walcott contract saga.
The 26-year-old former Southampton speedster has just 12 months left to run on his current deal at the Emirates Stadium, and his refusal to sign a new one had led to serious speculation about a possible summer transfer to either Chelsea or Liverpool.
However, according to The Sun, Walcott is on the verge of putting pen to paper with the Gunners, who are set for a further boost, as it appears that Petr Cech is poised to sign from Chelsea in the coming weeks.

Walcott has scored 50 Premier League goals in 208 games for Arsenal since joining Arsene Wenger’s men from Southampton as a teenager in January 2006.
However, Walcott’s time with Arsenal has been punctuated by injury.
He only managed four Premier League starts in the 2014-15 campaign due to a number of fitness issues. He finished the season strongly though, scoring a hat-trick in a 4-1 win over West Bromwich Albion on the final day, before finding the net again in a 4-0 victory against Aston Villa in the FA Cup final a week later.
Walcott is currently on international duty with England. He has scored five goals in 39 senior appearances for the Three Lions.
