Thierry Courtois tweeted the Czech international to tell him that the fans want him to stay at the club and to thank him, which is likely to be in reference to all of the wisdom he has passed on to his son over the course of the campaign.
It’s a rare move for a player’s father to contact his son’s competitor with such a message, but it shows just how well the two custodians get on behind the scenes.
@PetrCech The supporters want you to stay. I want also to thank you!

Cech is being tipped to move on this summer, with the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Paris Saint Germain all being linked with his signature.
After enjoying undisputed number one status at the club for the past decade, Cech’s spot in the side has come into question with the return of the Belgian youngster, and he has been left to take the cudgels for cup games and a handful of Premier League clashes.
