Arsenal are on the verge of completing an £8m deal for Olympiakos star Kostas Manolas as the defender undergoes a medical at the club, according to Goal.
The Gunners are on the lookout for a new centre-back following the £15m departure of Thomas Vermaelen to Barcelona.
Currently Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker and new £16m signing Calum Chambers are the only available options in central defence for manager Arsene Wenger and support is needed.
Manolas is also wanted by Juventus, but it seems that the 23-year-old would prefer a move to the Emirates Stadium and a chance to work under the guidance of Wenger.
The Greece international joined Olympiakos from fellow Athens side AEK in the summer of 2012 and has since played 74 times for the club in all competitions.
Manolas currently has 12 caps for the Greek national team as well and featured for the country at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
