Chelsea transfer rumours
The young Belgian joined ‘Gladbach on loan last summer, but his performances since doing so have prompted them to splash out €8m to make his switch permanent.
However, according to Belgium-based newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, the 21-year-old has insisted that he still has designs on turning out for the Blues in the future.
“It is true that Chelsea has a buy-back option. I’m glad, because I hope to still play for Chelsea. That remains a goal,” he said.
“I am focusing on excelling at Borussia Monchengladbach, but I still hope to play for Chelsea one day.”
Hazard also highlighted the good form of international teammate Kevin de Bruyne, who has made an indelible impact on the German top flight since linking up with Wolfsburg himself in August.
He now hopes to follow in de Bruyne’s footsteps.
“He is an example for me. He’s a hard worker and put in a lot of miles. For me, Kevin is the best player in the Bundesliga,” he added.
“He made a good choice to leave Chelsea. We may have taken a similar course, but he definitely has an advantage over me. I still have work to do.”
