Logano had entered the 2015 season with massive hype, and it is easy to see why based on his Daytona 500 performance, and he has many years ahead of him since he is still young.
Some have said that he may go down as the greatest NASCAR racer of all time. While this may seem like too much, Logano began making a case in the Daytona 500.
Here are three reasons why Logano has lived up to his immense hype thus far.
3. Hasn’t placed lower than sixth this season
Although there have only been three races in the 2015 NASCAR season so far, Logano has not placed lower than sixth in any of them, winning the Daytona 500, which is one of the most important races of the entire season. He got himself warmed up in the Sprint Unlimited race while being involved in a confrontation with Harvick. Logano also placed third in the Budweiser Duel shortly before winning the mother of all races.
2. Previous wins at young age
Logano had previously won two races in his career. While this does not sound like much considering this is his seventh professional season of his career, Logano had entered NASCAR at age 18 and became the youngest driver to ever win a Nationwide Series race. Later in his career, the Daytona 500 champion was the youngest to win a Sprint Cup Series race at age 19. He would be the 26th driver in history to win all three NASCAR divisions if he can win a Camping World Truck Series race.
1. Winning Daytona 500 at age 24
By finishing first in the Daytona 500, Logano became the second-youngest person to win this prestigious race at 24. He has often been called the LeBron James of NASCAR due to his worldly hype. This assessment is not far off as they each entered their respective sport professionally at age 18 while winning their first championship at least seven years later.
