3) James Rodriguez (AS Monaco)
The undoubted breakthrough star of the 2014 FIFA World Cup so far, AS Monaco wizard James Rodriguez has scored in each of Colombia’s four games in the tournament, including perhaps the goal of the tournament in their last sixteen clash against Uruguay.
His Ligue 1 side shelled out around £36m for Rodriguez from FC Porto just twelve months ago, meaning that it would be likely to take a fee well in excess of the £44m that Arsenal paid for Ozil to sign the silky playmaker.
Whilst he is a similar player to Ozil, Arsenal continue to have issues with a player to take a long-term role on the left, with Santi Cazorla offering little more than a short term option in the position.
Rodriguez could fit the bill, with him and Ozil being given the freed to create the chances for whichever striker is brought in to challenge Olivier Giroud for a spot in the first team line-up.
