A seldom-used member of the Reds, Tiago Ilori will get some much-needed playing time at Villa Park.
Liverpool and Aston Villa were both fortunate enough to make all of the moves they wanted to well-before the transfer window shut, but there was one more piece of business the two clubs needed to iron out: a loan deal for Tiago Ilori.
According to Sky Sports, the 22-year-old defender is at the Aston Villa training ground and will complete a season-long loan deal to join the Villans thanks to a granted extension to the transfer request from Aston Villa and Liverpool.
Tiago Ilori was acquired by Liverpool in 2013 but did not make a single appearance for the Anfield outfit, making loan spells for Malaga and Bordeaux over the last two seasons. Ilori is also a member of the Portuguese Under-21 team and has 10 caps plus a goal with the outfit since 2013.
Aston Villa have struggled defensively since a Week 1 clean sheet victory over Bournemouth, losing twice and getting a draw over the last three weeks.
