Quarterback ends nightmare tenure with jets organisation.
In what has been one of the more predicted moves this off-season, the New York Jets have finally cut ties with Quarterback Tim Tebow.
The QB had spent most of his time with the team sat on the bench, or playing the role of punt protector on special teams.
After signing with the team last year, he was seen as the player to run a rejuvenated wildcat system for the Jets, however the dream never became a reality, as his poor play when on the field, coupled with the constant media attention following him around meant that it became all too much for the organisation to handle, and the release seemed inevitable.
The final nail in the coffin came when the team took Geno Smith in the second round of the NFL Draft, and so became the genuine threat to Mark Sanchez as the starting QB.
With this Tebow became expendable, and now it will be interesting to see if anyone will take a chance on the unwanted former Florida Gator star.
