England international Tom Cleverley is the headline name of five released by Manchester United.
The Premier League’s retained list for 2014-15 confirms that the Red Devils have also released Ben Amos, Thomas Thorpe, Callum Evans and Ryan McConnell.

Cleverley has already agreed to join Everton on a free transfer when his Old Trafford contract expires on July 1, but the rest of the quintet are likely waving goodbye to the Premier League.
Neither Evans nor McConnell made the jump into Louis van Gaal’s first team, while Thorpe’s only appearance came as an 89th-minute substitute against West Ham United in August 2014.
Academy graduate Amos started seven games for United, but none since January 2012, and failed to make a significant impression during loan spells at Peterborough United, Hull City, Carlisle United or Bolton Wanderers.
