10. Calvin Johnson – While “Megatron” does not have quite enough accolades to warrant a Hall of Fame selection now, his four-year stretch of complete dominance in the NFL may be enough. In both 2011 and 2012 he led the league in receiving yards. In 2012 he set the NFL record for receving yards in a season by recording 1,964. His 88.0 receiving yards per game are also an NFL record. Johnson’s ability to make catches in double, even triple coverage have earned him 4 trips to the Pro Bowl and made him one of the most dominant receivers in NFL history in almost record time.
9. Devin Hester – In light of Ray Guy, the best punter in NFL history, being named to the Hall of Fame, it is only fitting that the best pure-return man be inducted as well. Devin Hester holds over a dozen NFL records for kickoff and punt returning, including the most kickoff and punt return TDs in a career and most non-offensive TDs in a career. He has been to three Pro Bowls and is a 4-time All-Pro selection, and was also named to the 2000s All-Decade team as a kick returner.
8. Joe Thomas – The Browns left tackle has been the model of perfect form ever since he entered the league in 2007. He has been to seven straight Pro Bowls and is a 6-time All-Pro selection. There is almost no doubt that someone with a stellar resume like Thomas would be a lock for the Hall of Fame in his first year.
