Michael Ray Richardson – NBA
Michael Ray Richardson played for the New York Knicks and the New Jersey Nets in the late 1970’s and throughout the 1980’s. In his second season in the NBA he led the league in assists and steals. Larry Bird once called him, “The greatest player on the planet.” So what happened to this guy?
Richardson became addicted to cocaine and failed three drug tests. He became the first player to receive a lifetime ban from the NBA with his third failed drug test.
