2. Don Bradman’s greatest ever innings
Legend Don Bradman made a staggering 270 – spread over seven hours, 38 minutes, his longest Test innings – to help Australia turn a 2-0 deficit into a series victory in 1937. It remains the highest score for a number seven (captain Bradman had reversed his batting order and placed himself at seven because of the atrocious conditions) to this day. The match has been described as a ‘sensational battle of tactics’ – which Bradman ultimately won.
Wisden’s website described Bradman’s innings as the greatest in the history of Test cricket, mainly due to the conditions.
