Who is the best of the big men that patrol the paint on a nightly basis?
Some of the most iconic players ever to grace the courts of the NBA have been some of the biggest.
Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul Jabbar and more recently Shaquille O’Neal, with many dynasties being built around their presence at both ends of the court.
And while the current crop of centres has a long way to go to be mentioned in the same sentence as some of their contemporaries, some of them are making excellent strides towards it, as fanatix ranks the top 10 centres in the NBA this season.
10. Chris Bosh – Miami Heat

It is hard to gauge Chris Bosh as a ‘true’ centre as he has plied his trade for much of his career at the four spot.
But coming into Miami as part of their ‘big three’, Both was forced to change up his playing style and be the team’s centre as the Heat looked to play a small, but skillful line-up.
Bosh has the ability to stretch the floor and hit shots out to 20 feet with regularity, but really his decreased numbers across the board are more of a sign he is the support player to LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, while still possessing the ability to change a game himself on any given night.
