6. Dennis Lillee – Australia
He possessed a ‘never-say-die’ attitude and was a workhorse and a strike-bowler all rolled into one, it’s little wonder Dennis Lillee is rated as one of the best of all-time.
The West Australian started his career as a tearaway quick, intimidating batsmen with his sheer pace, especially at his home field of the WACA.
But injuries, especially stress fractures in his back, caused him to rethink how he looked at his bowling and he came back to international cricket a more complete performer.
At one stage Lillee held the record for most Test wickets at 355, and went on to be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame in 2009.
