7) Thierry Henry – ARSENAL v Manchester United; 01/10/2000
Henry at his audacious, extroverted, brilliant best. The Frenchman scored more incredible goals than Frank Lampard’s had hot dinners during his first spell in North London but this magnificent effort against the old enemy Manchester United is surely the pick of the bunch. Receiving the ball 25 yards out with his back to goal Henry looked unlikely to threaten before he flicked the ball up, swivelled and unleashed an unstoppable volley into the top corner. It was proof the Gunners front-man was dangerous no matter where he was on the pitch.
