8. Spud Webb – 1986
The shortest ever winner of the Dunk Contest, Spud Webb showed you don’t have to be tall to have hops
Standing just 5ft 7in, Webb wowed the crowd in 1986 with an array of jaw-dropping reverse ad double-clutch dunks which quickly silenced the doubters he would lucky to be make it past the first round.
While Webb’s efforts were nowhere near as complex as later winning efforts, the fact he was giving up around a foot in height to most of his opponents and still making them look foolish, makes Spud’s efforts in ’86 truly special.
