They crash the boards and in some cases have the skill of smaller men, but who’s the best?
Power forward cans often be one of the more overlooked positions in terms of glamour and prestige in the NBA.
Normally they are found under the rim, working away at the coal-face trying to get offensive rebounds and tip in, which can mean the difference between winning and losing in tight games.
However, there are a few special players in the NBA today that posses the all-round skill sets to trouble opposing teams all over the court, and that is why they are in fanatix;s top 10.
10. Carlos Boozer – Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls forward still has the potential to be a game changer on any given night at the United Center, but his skill set is diminishing.
If this list was complied five seasons ago, Boozer would find himself closer to the top end of the scale rather than the bottom, with his days in Utah with Deron Williams some of his more productive.
Boozer will need to do even more of the heavy lifting now Derrick Rose is out for his second season ending injury in three seasons.
Possessed with a touch that can see him hit shots out to 16 feet and when combined with a deft touch with right or his non-natural left hand around the rim, Boozer can still be relied upon to provide close to double-doubles on a nightly basis.
