If the Oklahoma City Thunder are to make the leap from Western Conference contenders to NBA title winners, Ibaka looms as a crucial piece to the puzzle.
In the past with James Harden and Kevin Martin in the side, the Thunder did not need Ibaka to contribute on the offensive end, just inhale rebounds and send back a league best figures in block shots for two straight years.
But now with those shooting guards gone, the 24-year-old has moved to become the third scoring option, behind Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook in the starting give.
Iabak has become a dependable, but not outstanding, mid-range jump shooting, and when this is combined with his ability to play under the rim, Oklahoma City could have their starting power forward for the next 10 years already on their books.
