9. John Stones (Everton)
The man who invented the Paint Trophy joined Everton from Barnsley in the summer after impressing last season in the Championship.
With right back Seamus Coleman arguably the Toffees player of the season so far, and Phil Jagielka and Sylvain Distin forming a solid partnership in the heart of defence, 19-year-old Stones initially found chances hard to come by. But injuries saw Stones start the recent Premier League games with Stoke and Norwich and he was particularly impressive in the latter, delivering a commanding display at centre half. A future England defender in the making.
