9. Arsenal
Points per game: 2.2
Arsenal have undoubtedly improved this season, and the key factor in Arsene Wenger’s men’s resurgence has been defensive resilience.
Aside from a 6-3 defeat to Manchester City and catastrophic loss to Liverpool in the Premier League at the weekend – both of which came in early kickoffs away from home – the Gunners have been hugely solid at the back, with no team keeping more clean sheets so far this season.
Aside from those two results, which we’ll generously label anomalies, Arsenal have conceded just 15 goals in 23 matches.
Despite the sometime brilliance of Olivier Giroud, Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey, Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere, it is the strong backbone that sees the Emirates Stadium outfit involved in their first title challenge since 2008.
