2) Alan Shearer – 50 goals in 66 matches
The highest goalscorer in Premier league history, Shearer’s first 50 Premier League goals were for Blackburn, with whom he won a Premier League title with in 1994/95. He went on to join Newcastle, where he scored 148 league goals in 303 matches, taking his overall tally to 260.
1) Andy Cole – 50 goals in 65 matches
No one reached the 50 goal mark quicker than Cole, who was at his clinical best for Newcastle in the early nineties. His form earned him a move to Manchester United, where he went on to win an historic treble in 1999.
