Tottenham Hotspur have undergone vast changes this season, with the sale of Gareth Bale ushering in a new era and a multitude of expensive new signings being brought to the club in his stead.
It is fair to say that those signings have not yet clicked, and in hindsight a period of acclimatisation was always to be expected.
Still, Spurs sit sixth, just three points off the UEFA Champions League places despite a negative goal difference, and the second lowest scoring record in the top half of the table.
That’s due in part to a high number of shots from outside the area, with Tottenham clearly struggling to break teams down, and they also have taken the second lowest proportion of shots from close range in top flight.
Due to unconvincing play and some disastrous results, Spurs sacked manager Andre Villas-Boas and replaced him with rookie coach Tim Sherwood in December.
Since then, results have improved, and the north London side are growing under their new boss.
