1) Thierry Henry – Arsenal
There was only ever going to be one no.1 in terms of natural football talent. No one in the Premier League era has been able to put a smile on the fans’ faces like the mercurial French forward. Henry oozed arrogance, but he did so in a way that made everyone like him. He knew he was going to score, the fans knew he was going to score, and most importantly – the poor chasing defender knew he was going to score. The Frenchman glided around the football pitch, linking up beautifully with the likes of Bergkamp, Pires and Vieira, before working the ball onto his right and curling an effort into the far corner. Even his tap-ins looked good, and the country will do well to see a player of his sheer footballing ability ever grace the game again.
